“Response efforts to these catastrophic weather events will be costly and last for years,” said Lt. Col. Ron Busroe, The Salvation Army’s National Community Relations and Development Secretary. “With generous public support, The Salvation Army will be here to help the millions affected by the hurricanes for as long as they’re in need.”
100 percent of designated gifts will be used in support of those affected by both weather events.

Why is a financial contribution the ideal kind of donation?
A cash donation allows charitable relief agencies to use monetary contributions to purchase exactly what disaster survivors need. Monetary contributions are also easy to get to the disaster area. These funds can be used (1) to purchase needed items locally, (2) can support local and state economies, and (3) help local businesses and workers, whom often have suffered losses in the wake of the disaster event.
