Leaders from The Salvation Army will award Giant Eagle with the Community Service Award, Quality Life Services with the “Doing The Most Good” Award, and 84 Lumber / Nemacolin Woodlands Resort with the Project Bundle-Up Award. VIP Guests will have the opportunity to mingle with award winners and other dignitaries during a pre-dinner reception.

Shannon Perrine, WTAE-TV News Anchor will Emcee the event. Entertainment will be provided by Pittsburgh’s own Nate Walker, finalist on American Idol Season 17. This year’s theme is based on “Transforming Lives.” Keynote Speaker, Toshia Shaw, will deliver an uplifting message about the gift of faith, which has enabled her to overcome numerous trials in her life.  Toshia transformed her life after breaking away from a sex trafficking ring and now she is a powerful advocate for sexually exploited women and adolescent victims of sex trafficking, published author and renowned speaker.

During the event, The Salvation Army will unveil a new Anti-Human Trafficking initiative, called The LIGHT Project: Leading Individuals Gracefully out of Human Trafficking. This project is made possible through a $500,000 capacity building grant from the U.S. Department of Justice aimed to develop a program of comprehensive services for past and present victims of human trafficking across Western Pennsylvania.
