THE SALVATION ARMY RESPONSE TO TRAIN DERAILMENT IN HYNDMAN, PA

 

 

The media has been alerted to The Salvation Army's response to the tragic event this morning in Hyndman, PA, as follows.  Any media inquiries should be directed as indicated.  Please pray for all those affected and for our crews on scene.

 

AS OF 2:00 PM AUGUST 2, 2017:

 

The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services crews of staff and volunteers from Altoona, PA and Somerset PA are on scene of the train derailment at Hyndman, PA   A Mass Care Support Trailer loaded with emergency cots, blankets and sheltering equipment as well as additional food and beverages is enroute from Pittsburgh to Cumberland Maryland, where Major Dianna Blevins from The Cumberland Maryland Salvation Army is assisting the Red Cross there with setting up a mass sheltering operations site at the Best Western in Cumberland.
